General Description - From this page, you may view the ballparks used by each franchise in the world.
Season - You may select the current Hardball Dynasty season and any previous Hardball Dynasty seasons in this world from which you would like to view ballpark information. Once a full season is complete, its regular season ballpark information will be archived here for the duration of the world. While dimensions and effects will not change from season to season, the ballparks within a world may due to user turnover and franchise movement.
Level - After selecting a franchise to view, users may select the level at which to view the information. Levels from the dropdown menu include Majors, Triple-A, Double-A, High-A, Low-A and rookie ball teams. Each level uses a different ballpark with its own unique dimensions and effects. After selecting a season and level, please click 'Go' to view ballparks.
Ballpark - This indicates the name of the franchise's ballpark at that level.
Franchise - This indicates the name of the franchise using this ballpark.
User - This refers to the WhatIfSports.com user name of the owner of this franchise. Clicking on the name will display the owner's Hardball Dynasty user profile in a pop-up window.
S - This indicates the surface utilized at the ballpark. Surfaces are either grass (G) or turf (T). Turf parks generally yield more doubles and triples, while grass parks give up more infield singles.
Dimensions - These are the lengths (in feet) from home to the left field foul pole (LF), the straight-ahead center field wall (CF), the right field foul pole (RF) and the distances half way between LF and CF (LCF) and RF and CF (RCF) typically known as the power alleys. Dimensions are sortable. Clicking on the type of dimensions, like LF, will rank ballparks from closest to that location to furthest.
Effects - Ballpark effects are ranked on a scale from - 4 to + 4, based on their impact on hits (1B), doubles (2B), triples (3B), homeruns to left field (HR LF) and homeruns to right field (HR RF). These values are based how the ballpark has historically performed in each of these respects as compared to its contemporary ballparks. A negative number indicates that the ballpark yields less than the average for the type of hit, while a positive indicates that the ballpark yields more than the average for the type of hit. The more negative or positive number, the more extreme the effect for that hit in that direction. These numbers are just indicators of the relative effect in the simulation engine. They are important for users and founded entirely on historical fact, but are meant for display purposes and not explicitly used in the simulation engine.
